Read Douglas C’s inspiring journey, how he leverages web & Android development to give back and build purpose-driven technology at Work for Impact.

Douglas is a Web/Android developer based in Brazil, with experience in embedded systems and electronics. He started being a freelancer quite soon, and he's now keen on working with mobile, web development in particular on short projects. His skills include the knowledge of many languages among them: HTML, CSS, Javascript, WordPress, Elementor, DIVI, Django, Python, C/C++, Java, Mobile: Android (Java and Kotlin), Flutter, OutSystems.

We asked him a few questions to get to know him a bit better :)

What is your area of expertise?

Web and mobile development. With more emphasis on Django, WordPress, Android, and Flutter. Recently I've been doing a lot of front-end development for my current bigger client.

How did you become a freelance web developer?

I had a little extra time after finishing university and had some previous experience developing websites. It was a natural course.

A Smarter Way to Build Your Global Team

What do you enjoy the most about being a freelancer?

Freedom to choose the projects. I can work with people I want, doing jobs that I truly believe in.

If you would not be freelancing, what would you be doing?

I'm still an entrepreneur, so I would focus on building a company.

What are your goals? (Also not professionally speaking)

Always wanted to bring good to the world. I really want to succeed in my career and become able to help more people.

Right now I'm able to donate a good amount of money per month, considering my country's standards. I wish I can do better while being able to travel the world with my family.

What makes you feel youre contributing to a better world?

I try to be the better version of myself every day. I help everybody I can, I do voluntary work, donate a part of my fees and try to be a good example for my community.

Favorite organization, and why?

Mdecins sans Frontires, they've been helping people around the globe for over 50 years and I am glad I could help them for almost 5 years now.
