    Whilst backpacking around Colombia, I stumbled across this organisation who reached out to me and asked to help with the online digital side of their business, across several different projects.

    Combined with fieldwork, working with FEM allowed them to concentrate on the offline side of their business projects and gave me the personal freedom to work on their online businesses, digital marketing and online strategies.

    I worked with their volunteers on design elements, content strategy and social media marketing for the redesign and relaunch.

  • CMSplc (Cable Management Supplies)

    2009 - 2015

    A varied role, working in partnership with the Marketing Director which involved full ownership and control of the company website and web presence, managing a large successful online store and several portfolio sites. The work was varied and spanned web design, wireframing, web development, SEO & SEM, email marketing & design, day to day site management and maintenance/problem-solving. Consulting and project managing external design agencies.

    There was artistic work involved with logo design, branding, animations & caricatures.

    • Achieved increase in monthly traffic by building and improving the site’s structure

    • Implemented and managed monthly email newsletters and mail shots

    • Increased traffic overhauling onsite SEO, inbound links for the main store and all mini-sites.

    Some of the projects and tasks include:

    • Project managed all website projects, including design, build, and content management,

    overhaul of website structure and SEO techniques. Responsible for implementing and

    managing online trading, merchant banking and multiple payment gateways.

    • Redesign of e-commerce store to suit a more business/corporate website, maintaining

    e-commerce functionality. Worked with and managed 3rd party agencies on design projects.

    • Created training documents, workflow processes and held training sessions for company


    • Working with marketing department to draw up agreeable targets to improve online presence

    and sales.

    • Designed, built, maintained and updated satellite sites including logo design and branding

    • Designed new company ‘mascot’ and incorporated across all marketing material.

    • Communicating to senior management – to present concepts clearly and concisely to various business stakeholders to a high level.

    • Conducted interviews with external 3rd party contractors and liaised with recruitment agencies for employing new staff for the company.
