I am a translator with translation studies (English and German) and prior work experience in translation. I also bring experience in journalism and entry level programming (PHP, HTML, C++). I have previously worked with cloud systems and I have written research articles in the field of humanities, so I am very good in content writing, editing and proofreading.
I have lived and studied in Germany for five years, so my command of the German language has become similar to that of a native speaker's. I also hold a C2 language certificate for German.
I like my translations to be thorough and accurate and if you decide to work with me I will deliver only after proofreading and making sure everything has been thoroughly researched. This way, the translation is accurate not only grammatically, but also what meaning, cultural differences and field specific information concerns.
I am also knowledgeable of CAT tools and I can use translating techniques related to corpus analysis, terminology management, and to translation memory (TM). The software I normally use includes OmegaT and CafeTran, but given the fact that the principles of CAT tools remain largely unchanged, I can also make use of other software, provided by the client. Nevertheless, you should keep in mind that not every type of text is suitable for CAT processing: specialized fields like law, finance or technology have a higher suitability than general translation or literary translation. Also note that the use of CAT tools when translating still renders 100% human translation and it should not be mistaken with machine translation (MT).
