I worked with eBay as a customer support for almost 2 years. My experience equiped me not only with technical skills but also virtues needed to survive in the fast paced world of remote assistance. Most recently, I was given the opportunity to work with WebinarGrow as researcher VA.
The Philippine bureaucracy has discouraged me from working in the government even though I have all the requirements needed. Their qualification is more on who you know rather than what you know. Something which is very rare in the BPO and Virtual industry. Connections are merely byproducts of working...not something to leverage on.
In the time of global economic recession, having the chance to work online is a blessing beyond mere providence.
